Throughout the month of February and part of March all Compton Unified School District (CUSD) schools celebrated the many cultural, scientific, and literary contributions made by African-Americans throughout U.S. History with several student performances and works.

While music and dance were at the forefront of this year’s celebrations, several schools also ensured students had the opportunity to research and write about notable Black innovators and trailblazers.
