2010 Audi A5 TFSI Quattro Tiptronic Cabriolet

Southern California has long been the market for convertibles, which have always been trademarks along with Palm trees, the Hollywood sign, and roller bladers along the Venice boardwalk. SoCal drivers sporting the latest sunglasses have long been portrayed cruising the boulevards and highways in beautiful cars. The 2010 Audi A5 2.0 TPSI Quattro Tiptronic Cabriolet is a homage to the California dream. The Audi A5 Cabriolet’s good looks, great gas efficiency that for most drivers is 20 city miles per gallon and 26 highway miles per gallon with a range up to 31 mpg allows you to travel over a lot of Southern California.

Exterior:

The A5 Cabriolet is smart looking, appealing and attracts lots of admiring looks. I preferred the Ibis White exterior with brown roof and Cardamom beige interior, which provides maximum comfort in the San Fernando Valley sun.  The A5 is very sporty, keeping with the distinctive design features of the Audi line-up. It’s got good lines and features: innovative LED tail lamps, xenon plus headlights LED daytime running lamps and front fog lights, which enhance the exterior appeal. The 18” 15-spoke alloy wheels and all season tires are prominent.  It’s got a multi-generational appeal that could have Fathers, sons, daughters and mothers, all vying for the rights to drive it for the day.

Interior:

The A5 is on-the-one inside.  The cabin is very comfortable featuring leather trimmed eight-way power seats with driver lumbar for back support. The aluminum “Hologram interior” sets off the inner design exquisitely along with the prestige model’s almond beige as wood inlays. It’s got great sounds, a 10-speaker, 180-watt system that features a concert radio with CD player, SD card clot and AUX audio. Additional features include a driver information system with trip computer; cruise control, and automatic climate control, which is ultimately controlled by an automatic acoustic folding soft top with a heated glass window and a wind blocker. It’s a great vehicle for Southern California “movers & shakers” from 18 to 80. Expect to see lots on the road.

Performance: A5

“Truth in Engineering” is the advertising slogan for Audi in 2010. The A5 Cabriolet is a testament to top notch engineering.  A well engineered vehicle, it gets a lot from the TFSI 2.0 211 HO DOHC, turbo-charged four-cylinder engine with fuel injection. It’s got enough power to more than adequately move you around town. The six-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, smoothly puts it at the head of the pack.

The handling is superb, under you are 18” 10-spoke wheels with all season tires. All-wheel drive system with five-link front suspension, independent trapozodial-link rear suspension and speed sensitive steering system gives you a feeling of road dominance. It is a convertible with enjoyment engineered into every aspect of this pleasurable vehicle.

Safety & Security:

The Safety/Security package befits the Audi experience. Dual threshold airbags for driver and front passenger;. driver and front passenger seat-mounted head and thorax side airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, rigid body shell with special energy absorbing zones; automatically triggered roll-over protection, automatic front safety belt presenters, Audi Backguard system, and power central locking. For enhanced child safety, lower anchors and tethers in the rear. There are also three-point safety belts with automatic pretensioners.

If you enjoy cruising in the California sun, the Audi A5 Cabriolet is your dream car.
