On Wednesday, April 12, Rev. Fred Shaw from the NAACP’s Inglewood/South Bay Chapter and Rev. Oliver Buie from National Action Network presented CBS and Sony Pictures Television’s “The Young And The Restless” with a special award and ceremony in recognition of the show’s contributions to the community.

During the height of the pandemic in 2020, “The Young And The Restless” joined forces with the NAACP’s Inglewood-South Bay Chapter and the National Action Network to help children in need during the holiday season.

“Y&R” actor Michelle Stafford led the charge in raising money among the “Y&R” cast and crew to purchase toys that were distributed to families in the community.

The partnership has since become a holiday tradition at “Y&R.” Each holiday season, a group of cast members conducts the shopping and delivers the toys to the Salvation Army, which assists with the toy distribution throughout the community.

The ceremony took place at Television City and Stafford accepted on behalf of the show. The presentation began with a performance by the Archduchess of Divinity.

Additional cast members in attendance included Lauralee Bell, Eileen Davidson, Sean Dominic, Melissa Claire Egan, Amelia Heinle, Bryton James, Christian LeBlanc, Kate Linder, Melissa Ordway, and Trevor St. John.
