Stay Well Inglewood and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Host COVID Vaccine Event

On April 28, Stay Well Inglewood partnered with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc to host a health fair and vaccine event in Los Angeles.
This event titled “Spring into Good Health with AKA,” worked to influence those in the community to make their health their number one priority.
The event was from 8 AM to 5 PM, and offered services such as mammogram screening, COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters, blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, as well as visitations with onsite Physicians for attendees to get their health questions answered.
This is the second time the Stay Well campaign is stopping in Inglewood as part of a national effort in partnership with the US Department of Health and Human Services.
To date, this grassroots initiative has hosted a series of pop-up events that have been attended by more than 3,000 people, with more than 1,100 of whom decided to get their vaccines and boosters.
During the event, these organizations were able to give out services to over 160 participants.
Over 130 Inglewood residents received the COVID-19 vaccine, and fifty-seven residents received screening for blood pressure and glucose. 113 Mammograms were also provided onsite.
The Stay Well Health Fair and Vaccine events are designed to bring health-related resources to Black communities across the country.
The W. Montague Cobb/NMA Health Institute has partnered with local health agencies and community-based organizations in select cities to continue to educate Black communities while working to make vaccine resources more accessible.
These fairs feature local trusted Black healthcare professionals in panel discussions on the continued impact of COVID-19, the vaccines, and the emerging variants.
