The California Black Woman’s Collective, California Black Media and BWOPA California are coming together to host the State of Black Women in CA (SOBWCa) Issues Forum and release their report, “SOBWCa 2022 and Beyond: Essays from Black Women Though Leaders,” on Monday, January 31, at 4 p.m.

This event is part of the CABWC’s empowerment series.

“We are excited to talk to the authors of this report during this virtual event.

They are subject matter experts on the issues that are important to Black Women and the Black community,” said Kellie Todd Griffin, convener of the California Black Women’s Collective.

The State of Black Women in CA Issues Forum was created to improve “the lives of Black Women and Girls throughout California and to ensure we don’t get left out of the conversation,” states Griffin.

“So often we are behind the scenes doing the work to help all communities thrive but there is still a need to focus on our specific issues to ensure there is intentionality to making sure change happens for us and our communities.

That is why it was imperative to have this report center around the intersection of gender, race and location.”
