Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science (CDU) announced the full artist line-up for the 21 Jazz at Drew concert to be held Saturday, October 6, on the campus of the University in South Los Angeles.

In addition to After 7, The S.O.S. Band, Miki Howard, Jazz Funk Soul (featuring Everett Harp, Jeff Lorber and Paul Jackson Jr.) and the Pete Escovedo Orchestra, the lineup also includes a return engagement by DW3 and a Tribute to the Crusaders featuring Joel Gaines, Reggie Young, Brian Price and Ronnie Laws.

The annual concert is both a community event and a fundraiser for student scholarships and support services at the health professions University, which features a College of Medicine, a College of Science and Health and the Mervyn M. Dymally School of Nursing.

The University has been a champion of health equity and access of healthcare to all since its founding in 1966. CDU has graduated or trained over 7,000 physicians, nurses, physician assistants and allied and public health professionals over the last five decades, with the vast majority of them going on to practice in some of the most underserved communities in Los Angeles and throughout the nation. Funds raised by this concert will help CDU with that mission to create healthier communities in under-resourced areas.
