Monday, December 9, 2013 – Honorable Sebastian Ridley-Thomas has taken his oath of office and assumed his official duties as a member of California State Assembly for the 54th District. 

Assemblymember Ridley-Thomas was sworn in on Thursday, December 5, 2013 in the State Capitol in a private oath of office ceremony administered by California Assembly Speaker John A. Pérez in the historic State Capitol Building.

“I’m delighted to have taken my oath of office and having officially joined the California State Assembly. I have eagerly begun the hard at work that is expected of me by the people of the 54th Assembly District. My first order of business will be selecting a talented and energetic staff to serve the needs of our district,” Assemblymember Ridley-Thomas said.

Assemblymember Ridley-Thomas indicated that he intends to host a ceremonial swearing-in event at a community location in the 54th Assembly District in January 2014.
